"Bringing analytical knowledge into the field where hydrogeologic, hydrologic and environmental problems need to be solved."
Environmental Services
CGS provides services that help ensure aquifer protection should a contaminant issue threaten these valuable water supplies. CGS provides emergency response, assessment and remediation in these circumstances, including contaminated soils removal, temporary stockpiling, remote soils remediation and additional difficult scenarios such as remediation around buildings and foundations.
Typical regulatory services include providing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s) for real estate transactions. These studies include a field component to address environmental liabilities of properties based on current and historical use. More comprehensive NEPA Environmental Assessments (EA’s) are also conducted when necessary. Specialized environmental studies such as the Groundwater Under Direct Influence of Surface Water determination (GWUDISW) are conducted for compliance of water service providers.
Investigatory studies that affect land and watersheds are also conducted in detail, and include Electromagnetic mapping to detail the effects of salt water intrusion in an aquifer, contaminant transport or landfill boundaries.

Many environmental problems are intractable without experience in geology, groundwater flow modeling and environmental consulting experience. Here a simple system is being constructed to deal with an enormous heating fuel plume which would be prohibitively expensive for this village if traditional means were used for remediation.
